I was all about trying different things with film photography last summer. I even bought a new camera and used different types of film – be warned, the outcomes have varying quality. The idea was about being experimental and taking photos beyond the 200 and 400-ISO-rated films that I am comfortable using now.

As loyal readers might know, I have been using an automatic film camera (Olympus AZ-1) since the start of this blog. I recently bought the Nikon EM 35 off the Facebook marketplace, and there’s a learning curve to overcome before using it properly.
I made the mistake of repeatedly opening the back of the Nikon to check if the roll was progressing correctly, giving the photos character with all the random light leaks. A lot of the images look dark and underexposed too.

I have not done the Cinestill 800 T justice because I know the roll can make low-light images look good. And I am so impressed with how well the Nikon EM 35 performed under low light, even with a 200-ISO film. I am definitely combining the Nikon with the Cinestill and hoping this can make some magic happen.
